Privacy & saving

Your work stays yours.

You can learn without an account. For projects, MainChar asks only for a made-up username, passphrase, and avatar. Accounts are for people 13 or older.

What we save

Your lesson place and answers; project titles, short notes, and checked steps; and your username, avatar choice, and one-way hashes of your passphrase and recovery code. We do not ask for your email, real name, birthday, school, photos, AI chats, or external-tool password. Do not put private information in project notes.

Who can see it

Your account and projects are private to you. Public project submissions are not open. We do not add advertising or behavioral trackers.

How you return

Sign in with your username and passphrase on another device. A signed-in browser may remember you for up to 30 days. On a shared device, sign out. If you forget your passphrase, use the private recovery code shown when you created your account. The code is shown once and changes after use. If you lose both, we cannot prove the account is yours. Download your project notes as a separate copy.

Deletion

In My space, you can delete your account and its active saved work by confirming your passphrase. Daily server backups expire after 30 days. The things you created in other tools or downloaded to your device are not held or deleted by MainChar.
